A couple of years ago at my baseball site I took a game off from the announcers and played a bunch of great single songs. Still don't have a new name for it, but Tuesday's 100-96 Tulsa victory was also 200 Game Season's first Singles Night.

Game 299 - Houston at Tulsa

February 11 at Donald W. Reynolds Center in Tulsa, OK
ESPNU

This was the second time we've watched Houston since the site was born in the fall of 2015 and the second time Rob Gray Jr. was impressive.

The redshirt-junior guard knocked down six 3-pointers on his way to a 28-point night, and Damyean Dotson added 24 points in the Cougars' 73-64 win.

It's amazing (and potentially troubling in the postseason if the team can't find a reliable third scorer and either or both get into any type of foul trouble) how important that duo is for Houston. Looking at the first 20 minutes on Saturday, the Cougars had 16 scoring possessions - either a two-pointer, three-pointer or free throw - and Gray and Dotson were involved, whether by scoring themselves or assisting, on 32 of the team's 36 first-half points.

In the second half, Gray, who leads the AAC in scoring, and Dotson (fourth) - were involved in 27 of the 37 points on 15 possessions.

Gray & Dotson were directly involved in 61 of the 73 points (83%) scored by Houston. That's incredible and a lot of fun to watch.

Tulsa didn't have a whole lot of fun overall, but it was a great night for their reserve guard Corey Henderson. The junior, who came in averaging 7.7 points, hit five of his seven three-point attempts for a team-high 19 points.

Game 224 - Tulsa at Wichita State

November 16 at Charles Koch Arena in Wichita, KS

A whole bunch of basketball phrases and assorted silliness from the broadcast team of Mitch Holthus and Rich Zvosec during this 80-53 Wichita win.

1. Wichita plays in the Missouri Valley Conference, but if you didn't know that, just listen to these two for 40 minutes.

They said "the Valley" 24 total times, 11 in the first half, 13 in the second.

2. What is Mitch Holthus Talking About

[on Tulsa staying close] "they need to keep this thing at least on Google Maps through the first 20 minutes."

"Tekele Cotton was instant oatmeal."

"When [head referee] blew his whistle, everybody was waiting on the election returns."

"Two tasty games are on the horizon."

3. And speaking of deliciousness and horizons, the broadcast was sponsored by Casey's General Store, "famous for pizza".
