Game 678 - Golden State Warriors at Boston Celtics
January 26 at TD Garden in Boston, MA
ABC
That's 10 consecutive wins for the Warriors, who got 33 points from Kevin Durant in a 115-11 win.
Golden State, back on top of the Western Conference with the victory, has now won nine straight on the road since falling at Utah last December 19.
Nice nights for Al Horford (22 and 13, 10-of-15 from the field) and Kyrie Irving (32 points, 10 assists) in a losing effort. Also a nice night for color commentator Mark Jackson who said "that's good basketball" after Boston missed a first quarter shot.
"That's good announcing."
- Derwood Morris
Other games watched:
Utah at California
Grand Canyon at California Baptist

Game 614 - Golden State Warriors at Utah Jazz
October 19 at Vivint Smart Home Arena in Salt Lake City, UT
ESPN
Tough loss for Utah in its first home game & our season 4 opener.
The Jazz led by as much as 16 points in the second half, but Jonas Jerebko's tip-in (in his first game against his former team) with .3 seconds left was the difference in a 124-123 Golden State win.
Jae Crowder's lay-up with 51 seconds to go had given Utah a 123-122 lead, and with the ball back and still up one, Donovan Mitchell missed a long, pull-up jumper with seven seconds left. That gave the defending NBA champions a last possession, and after Kevin Durant (game-high 38 points) missed a pull-up from the elbow, Jerebko made a tricky tip-in for the winning points.
Durant came close to a triple-double, adding nine rebounds and seven assists. Steph Curry scored 31 points and handed out eight of the Warriors' 27 assists. Golden State was excellent from both three-point range (10-of-19) and the field overall (39-of-87, 56%).
Utah started 1-11 from three-point range, but made 18 of its final 35. Joe Ingles led the way, hitting 7-of-11 from behind the arc for a team-high 27 points.

Games 592 - Golden State Warriors at San Antonio Spurs
March 19 at AT&T Center in San Antonio, TX
ESPN
Golden State was without Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson, AND lost Draymond Green to a second quarter injury, so an 89-75 San Antonio win makes a little sense.
But the Spurs still played well defensively, holding Golden State to 15% shooting from three and 40% overall. San Antonio's offense ran through LaMarcus Aldridge all night and the 6-11 post player scored 33 points on 13-of-22 shooting and added 12 rebounds.
Green didn't score and grabbed just three rebounds in 12 minutes before the injury, so Quinn Cook stepped up and scored a team-high 20 points.
Without those four all stars, Golden State scored its fewest points since a hilarious, great-day-in-the-Big-10, 76-74 loss to San Antonio in November, 2013.

Games 491-492: College/pro doubleheader
492 - Golden State at Houston
January 20 at Toyota Center in Houston, TX
January 20 at Toyota Center in Houston, TX
ABC
Fantastic game for Chris Paul, who led the Rockets to a 116-108 victory.
Paul scored 33 points and added 11 rebounds and seven assists. The 32-year old also made 6-of-11 from behind the arc and that rebound total is his most since also grabbing 11 in November, 2016 for the Clippers against Oklahoma City.
491 - Baylor at Kansas
January 20 at Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence, KS
ESPN
The misery against Kansas continues for Baylor.
Malik Newman had a game-high 24 points, including the go-ahead lay-in with just over a minute to play as Kansas won 70-67.
Baylor is now 0-16 lifetime at Allen Fieldhouse and has lost 11 consecutive games in the series.
The Bears led 67-61 on a nice foul line jumper by Manu Lecomte with just under three minutes to play, but Newman was on another level late in the game. He followed Lecomte's bucket with a three-point play that began a personal, 7-0 run that was capped by a bucket at the 1:11 mark that put the Jayhawks up 68-67.
Newman actually scored 12 straight Kansas points during a three-minute stretch. He was outstanding at a perfect time for Kansas, which moved to 6-1 in Big 12 play. Devonte Graham did what your best player is supposed to do when he struggles with his shot (3-of-10 from the field) as he handed out seven assists and grabbed eight rebounds.
Baylor hasn't won in the series since March, 2013.

Games 403-404: Opening round continues
404 - Western Conference first round
Golden State Warriors at Portland Trailblazers
April 22 at Moda Center in Portland, OR
ESPN
403 - Western Conference first round
San Antonio Spurs at Memphis Grizzlies
April 22 at FedEx Forum in Memphis, TN
ESPN
Kawhi Leonard, my goodness. Leonard scored 43 points, including the tying three in the corner with 10 seconds left in overtime. Unfortunately for the Spurs, Marc Gasol's 12-foot floater with less than a second to go was the difference in Memphis' 110-108 victory. Memphis, which was swept by the Spurs in last season's opening round, evened the best-of-7 series at 2-2 with game five set for April 25.
Leonard, who scored the last 16 (!) San Antonio points in regulation & also had six of his team's 11 steals, and Mike Conley (franchise postseason-record 35 points, nine rebounds, eight assists) went back and forth all game.
Gasol (16 and 12) also beat the halftime buzzer with a Conley-assisted long two.

Game 258 - Golden State Warriors at Houston Rockets
January 20 at Toyota Center in Houston, TX
ESPN
The Warriors made 15 threes, but even more important was their work on Houston's outside game (the Rockets made just 7-of-35 from behind the arc) in winning their sixth straight, 125-108.
Kevin Durant was great for the visitors, scoring 32 points on 12-of-19 shooting and he handed out seven of the team's 30 assists. Durant has 71 points in two games against Houston this season.
Houston's bench, led by Clint Capela - 22 points & 12 rebounds - out-scored its starters 58-50. That's never usually a good thing.

Game 217 - (1) Golden State Warriors at (3) Oklahoma CityThunder
Western Conference Finals
May 28 at Chesapeake Arena in Oklahoma City, OK

Good heavens, Klay Thompson.
The Warriors' guard scored 41 points and hit 11 (!) 3-pointers in a 108-101 victory that evened the best-of-seven series.
Game 7 is Monday.
Incredible what Thompson and Steph Curry were able to do as Curry just missed a triple-double (31 points, 10 rebounds, nine assists). That's 72 of the team's 108 points.
Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook were a combined 20-for-58 (34%), though Westbrook also just missed a triple-double - 28 points, 11 assists and nine rebounds.

February 6 at Oracle Arena in Oakland, CA

New rule: if the teams are still tied after one overtime, Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry play one-on-one to....37? (49?) to determine the winner.
Even if it's not a Warriors-Thunder game, Durant & Curry are flown to your city to complete your game.
* Two things, Jeff Van Gundy:
1. When talking about a blocked shot, don't say "the long arm of the law"
2. "I couldn't ball at all!" HAS to be the title of a future Jeff Van Gundy coaching video (VHS only).

January 22 at Oracle Arena in Oakland, CA
ESPN
Fantastic night for Stephen Curry, who recorded a triple-double - 39 points (8-of-15 on threes), 12 assists and 10 rebounds - as the Warriors won 122-110.
Also a great night for Myles Turner, who came off the Pacers' bench to score 31 points in 27 minutes, knocking down 12 of his 17 field goal attempts. It was just way too much Curry and Draymond Green (22 points, 10-of-15, 11 rebounds).
Golden State's incredible start continued as the Warriors improved to 40-4 and have won by an average margin of 25 1/2 points.
