Tough loss for Utah in its first home game & our season 4 opener.
The Jazz led by as much as 16 points in the second half, but Jonas Jerebko's tip-in (in his first game against his former team) with .3 seconds left was the difference in a 124-123 Golden State win.
Jae Crowder's lay-up with 51 seconds to go had given Utah a 123-122 lead, and with the ball back and still up one, Donovan Mitchell missed a long, pull-up jumper with seven seconds left. That gave the defending NBA champions a last possession, and after Kevin Durant (game-high 38 points) missed a pull-up from the elbow, Jerebko made a tricky tip-in for the winning points.
Durant came close to a triple-double, adding nine rebounds and seven assists. Steph Curry scored 31 points and handed out eight of the Warriors' 27 assists. Golden State was excellent from both three-point range (10-of-19) and the field overall (39-of-87, 56%).
Utah started 1-11 from three-point range, but made 18 of its final 35. Joe Ingles led the way, hitting 7-of-11 from behind the arc for a team-high 27 points.
