490 - Georgia Southern at Georgia State

Georgia State led by just three points with about 10 1/2 minutes to go, but 3-pointers from Devin Mitchell and Isaiah Williams, and a D'Marcus Simonds' dunk during a quick, 8-0 spurt put the Panthers up 66-55. Southern also helped by missing 10 consecutive shots at one point and Simonds added six more of his 24 points down the stretch in a 83-66 victory.

Excellent night from behind the arc for Georgia State, which hit 13-of-27 in winning its fifth consecutive game.

Southern led 38-37 at halftime, then shot 11-of-40 in the second half.

Simonds added 10 rebounds and six assists, Williams scored a season-high 16 off the bench and Jeff Thomas hit all five of his three-point attempts to lead a great night for the offense. The Panthers scored their most points since also scoring 83 in a loss at Dayton on December 16.

489 - Georgia Southern women at Georgia State

Finally, a Sun Belt win for the Georgia State women, which won 71-56 to improve to 1-6 in league play.

Kierra Henry led the way with 18 points in Georgia State's fourth consecutive win against its rivals. Georgia Southern, which stayed winless at 0-7 against league foes, shot 35% from the field and was out-rebounded 56-24. In fact, the Eagles had a tough time out-rebounding Panthers' post player Francesca Milani, who grabbed a career-high 18.
