Game 306 - Central Florida women at South Florida

February 14 at USF Sun Dome in Tampa, FL
ESPN

Quite a night for the Golden Knights, who not only defeated a ranked team for the first time in their Division 1 history, but snapped a 19-game losing streak against their in-state rivals.

The 66-62 victory was the first for UCF in the series since December 10, 1980 and they couldn't have done it without Aliyah Gregory.

The junior guard was sensational, using a pretty mid-range pull-up jumper to score a career-high 34 points on 15-of-26 shooting in 36 minutes. Gregory set the tone right away, hitting 6-of-8 from the field in the opening quarter, which included her becoming the 22nd player in school history to reach the 1,000-point plateau.

"Of course, hitting a major milestone like that feels good and then we get a win on top of that feels great," Gregory told ucfknights.com.

UCF used a dominant, 20-6 second quarter to grab a nine-point halftime lead, and withstood a fourth quarter rally from the Bulls to move to 16-9 overall and 6-6 in the American Athletic Conference.
