Belmont rolled to an 80-55 victory in the Legends Classic championship game, though the real legends were the members of the broadcast team.
The espn3 telecast just began with the opening tip and I never got a chance to get any names, but these two just had a phenomenal evening.
We had Basketball Phrases & General Nonsense:
"Eyes got as big as saucers"
"Team of assassins"
"Calm, cool and collected"
"Storied program"
"Hotbed for talent"
"Verticality"
"Bunnies"
"Hack-a-Bruin"
Some people-specific silliness (psS):
"Byrd Ball"
[Great how they misspelled 'Byrd']
"The Al Skinner Era"
"It's the Nick Masterson Show!"
And some other silliness (oS):
"They've answered nicely in trying to reply"
(pardon?)
"That's the one guy that's got a giant, neon green sign above his head - 'watch me'"
(A. Why neon green?
B. We're dealing with a GIANT neon green sign here, would the 'watch me' part really be necessary?)
"He buried Egekeze into the Convocation wood!"
(yikes)
And finally, someone said "shot clock down to 10 seconds", but it sounded like 'shot clock TOWN'. That would be a pretty hectic place, I think, though I assume the stop light situation would be about the same.
