Games 598-600: Final four is set
NCAA Tournament regional finals
600 - (3) Texas Tech vs. (1) Villanova
March 25 at TD Garden in Boston, MA

The Wildcats got to their second final four in three seasons (and third in Jay Wright's 17 seasons) thanks to huge edges in rebounding (51-33) and at the free throw line (29-of-35, Tech attempted 18).
I'd put Villanova as a slight favorite to win the whole thing, though Midwest champion Kansas, its opponent in next week's national semifinals, is just as capable of winning two more games.

Not much more to say about the Missouri Valley Conference champions, which shot 57% from the field, hit half of their 18 three-point attempts and rolled into the program's first final four since winning the title in 1963.
This was actually the first comfortable outcome for the Ramblers, who won by a combined four points in their first three tournament games, but 78-62 on Saturday. This one really wasn't all that close for much of the day. Ben Richardson was fantastic (23 points on 7-of-10 shooting) and his 3-pointer 3 1/2 minutes into the game put Loyola up for good. The lead grew to as much as 61-38 on a Lucas Williamson lay-up with 9:40 to go.
What a run and it continues in the national semifinals, next Saturday against Michigan.

The origins of the made-up nonsense phrase "dribble drive" really go back to Bill Raftery. I'm not 100% sure Raftery was the first broadcaster to shout this phrase, but he is definitely one of the first I ever heard. Since, dozens of announcers use it even though it means absolutely nothing.

YOU CAN'T DRIVE WITHOUT DRIBBLING.
So it's an incredible day at 200 Game Season that not only did we get Raftery for two games, but he wasted no time in saying "dribble drive".

We finally got to see Trae Young play and the Oklahoma freshman had his worst game as a collegiate. Harassed all game by multiple defenders, Young turned the ball over 12 (!) times in an 87-69 loss for the Associated Press No. 4 Sooners.
Young still scored 20 points, though it came on 21 shots (and he was 2-of-10 from three-point range), and handed out six assists. The guard remains the country's leader in scoring (29.5) & assists (9.8).
Young, who tonight reached the 500-point mark in a ridiculous 17 career games, was featured coming into the night, especially considering he was three days removed from a 43-11-7 performance against TCU, but the host Wildcats turned into the main story.
KSU shot 73% (19-of-26) from the field in the second half (and had 12 assists on those 19 made baskets), including 10-of-11 at one point, to pull away. Fantastic games for Barry Brown (24 points, 10-of-17 from the field) and Dean Wade (16 of 21 points in the second half to go along with seven assists), who each overshadowed Young.

Mount St. Mary's started the evening with the program's first-ever NCAA win, squeaking by New Orleans 67-66. The Mountaineers, who have been Division I since 1988 and are a 20-win team for just the second time in that span, had been 0-4 previously in the tournament.
The 16-seed draws defending national champion Villanova in Thursday's opening round, and though I fully expect the Wildcats to win, the guard match up could be interesting. Mount St. Mary's has the shortest player in Division I in 5-5 Junior Robinson, and two other really good guards in sophomore Elijah Long and freshman Miles Wilson. Robinson led the way Tuesday with 23 points, and though Long struggled with just six points, Wilson was a huge factor, contributing 17 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Both Robinson and Wilson never came off the floor.
A big key for Robinson going up against Villanova's Josh Hart and Jalen Brunson will be limiting turnovers. Robinson had six of his team's 16 against New Orleans.
In the nightcap, Kansas State shot a ridiculous 66% (25-of-31 on twos) from the field in a 95-88 victory. Wesley Iwundu was fantastic, scoring 24 points and handing out seven assists, and Kamau Stokes made five threes on his way to 22 points. Wake's Bryant Crawford led the way with a 20-point, 10-assist night.
Kansas State matches up with No. 6 seed Cincinnati in Friday's round of 64.

Page hit 3 three-pointers, part of a 50% shooting night from behind the arc for the Associated Press No. 25 Wildcats. Page led a youthful Kansas State bench that out-scored Iowa State's 39-13, thanks to 11 points from freshman Eternati Willock and nine out of sophomore Kayla Goth.
Iowa State had pulled to within 72-68 on a three from Seanna Johnson with three minutes to play, but the visitors missed their final five shots and didn't score again.

That all happened to Georgia State in a 77-72 loss, which snapped an eight-game winning streak.
Something about the Convocation Center that makes GSU uncomfortable. Since GSU re-joined and ASU joined the Sun Belt in 2014, that's three road losses in three years in Boone for the Panthers.
