A huge turnaround season continued for Nicholls as Roddy Peters' near-triple double led to an 87-83 win.
That's five straight for the Colonels, who went 14-17 a year ago, but remained atop the Southland Conference at 12-2 (18-9 overall). Peters was fantastic, scoring 30 points to go along with eight rebounds and seven assists in 31 minutes off the bench.
Jordan Howard is second nationally in scoring and he showed why, scoring a game-high 37 points in a losing effort for Central Arkansas.
A ridiculous 47 fouls were called, leading to these free throw shooting numbers:
* Central Arkansas went 28-of-37
* Nicholls was 24-for-31
* Howard, who is one of only 30 players in the country shooting 88% or better from the line, went 19-for-19, while Peters was 14-for-16
