November 13 at Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, RI
Fox Sports 1
Jordan Murphy followed a 35-point, 15-rebound performance in Minnesota's season-opening win over USC-Upstate with 23 points (on 10-of-15 shooting) and 14 rebounds in an 86-74 victory.
29 points and 14.5 rebounds in two games for the junior forward.
And it's not just Murphy. Minnesota, coming off its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2013, had a stretch in the second half where it pulled away from a good Providence team by scoring points on 12 consecutive possessions. That's not easy to do.
The Golden Gophers are hoping great guard play - pre-season all-Big 10 senior Nate Mason had 17 points and sophomore Amir Coffey, 15 Monday - and the emergence of Murphy as a stand out will elevate to the next level a team that hasn't been past the round of 32 in 20 years.
