November 11 at GSU Sports Arena in Atlanta, GA

Yes, it was an NAIA team, and yes, it was just game No. 1 of a 30-game regular season, but it was exactly what I was hoping to see from GSU in its opener.
GSU, off a run to the Round of 32 in '14, but also a disappointing postseason-less '15, shot 51 percent from the field and held its in-state foe to just 31 percent. In a 111-69 victory, the Panthers scored their most points since collecting 115 in the 2014 opener.
Charlotte transfer Willie Clayton was huge all night (11 points, 13 rebounds, 5 blocks) and Jeremy Hollowell, in his second season since transferring from Indiana, led the way with 23 points.
Things get much tougher in a hurry for GSU, which travels to Auburn Monday, then visits West Lafayette on the 18th to take on Purdue.
