Jarred Dixon!
The Missouri State guard banked in a half-court 3-pointer at the buzzer and Missouri State won a thriller, 66-65.
Dixon's shot closed an absurd final possession. Illinois State had the ball with just under eight seconds left, but turned it over. The ball touched the hands of several players diving for the loose ball and Dixon scooped it up and launched a 47-footer for the win.
The ending nearly made me forget about the play of a number of really good mid-major players.
Milik Yarbrough of Illinois State came in as the MVC's leading scorer and took a bit to get going, but finished with 17 points in 31 minutes. His teammate, Phil Fayne, was the most impressive player on the court, dominating for stretches and finishing with 22 points on 9-of-15 shooting.
Meanwhile, Missouri State's Tulio Da Silva led the way for the Bears, not missing any of his eight field goal attempts for a team-high 17 points.
